The Appellant was charged with statutory rape in Nachingwea District Court. He denied the charge and raised the defence of alibi. However, the trial court convicted and sentenced him to 30 years’ imprisonment. He was aggrieved by that decision and appealed to the High Court maintaining his stance that he never had sexual intercourse with the girl.
