The Appellants were charged with offences under the Drugs and Prevention of Illicit Trafficking in Drugs Act [Cap 95 R.E. 2002]. Their application for bail was refused because they did not qualify for bail since the offences with which they were charged were unbailable as the value of drugs related to their offences exceeded Tshs. 10 million. The Applicants appealed to the High Court against refusal of bail. The High Court considered whether or not the Applicants qualified to be released on bail.
