The Appellant was charged with unlawful possession of firearms. His case was heard before several magistrates. At the end he was convicted and sentenced in absentia although he was in custody. The Appellant was aggrieved and decided to appeal faulting his conviction in absentia as he was in custody. The counsel for the Respondent did not support the conviction on account of irregularities at the trial.
