This appeal stems from the decision of the District Court where the Appellant was charged with and convicted of the offence of rape. He was found guilty, convicted and sentenced to a prison term of thirty years and four strokes of the cane. He was also ordered to pay the victim compensation of Tshs. 500,000/=. The Appellant’s first appeal to the High Court was not successful. Still aggrieved, he has preferred this appeal.
