The Appellant, was arraigned before the Regional Court at Mwera for two counts of rape contrary to the law. He was found guilty of both counts. He was convicted and sentenced to serve a period of seven years’ imprisonment on the 1st count and five years in prison for the 2nd. The sentences were directed to run concurrently. In addition, he was ordered to pay Tshs. 500,000/= to the victim as compensation. Aggrieved by the conviction and sentence the Appellant has now appealed to this court.
