The High Court at Tanga upheld the conviction and sentence
imposed on the Appellant who was charged with the offence of robbery with
violence. Dissatisfied with the decision of the High Court the Appellant
appealed to the Court of Appeal. The Appellant attacked the High Court decision
on the ground of true age. He asserted that at the time of commission of the
offence he was 15 years of age and therefore a young person. The Court of
Appeal considered the ground of appeal.
