The Appellant pleaded guilty and was convicted of
Manslaughter. He was sentenced to a prison term of twenty years. He appealed to
the Court of Appeal against that sentence. He argued that the sentencing court
did not consider his mitigating factors and also that the trial judge
questioned the moral turpitude of the Appellant, which was not an issue before
the trial court. The Court of Appeal considered, inter alia, principles
of sentencing.
