The Appellant was tried and convicted of five counts of forgery and uttering false documents. He was, thereafter, sentenced to concurrent sentences of seven years’ imprisonment. The conviction of the Appellant was based mainly on findings of the handwriting expert submitted as Exhibit P3 and P4. During trial, the hand writing expert was never called in court to testify and thus the Appellant was not given an opportunity to cross examine him. Aggrieved by this, the Appellant opted to appeal.
