The Appellant was tried for murder. When the charge was read over to him on 05/04/2013 he pleaded not guilty. Following the plea of not guilty, the police and the DPP’s office continued with the investigation and whenever the matter was called in court, the prosecution prayed for adjournments claiming that the investigation was still incomplete. On 09/05/2013 the learned Counsel for the accused prayed that the court should release his client on the ground that prosecution was delaying the case.
