The Appellants, who were charged with and acquitted of the
offence of forceful entry into a piece of land contrary to section 85 of the Penal
Code by a Primary Court, were convicted on appeal to the District Court of an
alternative offence of criminal trespass under section 299 (a) of the Penal
Code. They appealed to the High Court.
