The Appellant was charged with and convicted of causing grievous
harm and rape. He decided to appeal to the High Court before which he protested
his innocence. Before the High Court, the counsel for the Respondent (Republic)
did not support the conviction because of contradictions in evidence and
credibility of the Complainant’s witness who appeared to be untrustworthy
witness. The High Court considered the question whether there was sufficient
evidence to found conviction of the Appellant.
