This matter had earlier been set for hearing for two consecutive days. However, when it was called on for commencement of hearing, learned Counsel for the 1st and 2nd defendants, (“the applicants”), asked to address the Court on a matter contained in his letter to the Court, namely, a request for my recusal from presiding over the case on grounds that he summarised in the third paragraph of his said letter. Attached to the Counsel’s is a letter from the 1st applicant in which it gives a series of the said “events, rulings and orders” that it believes show the alleged lack of impartiality and bias on my part. On the strength of instructions received from his clients, the Counsel moved the court for an order that I recuse myself from presiding over this matter.
