The Appellant, with another person, was charged with and convicted of robbery with violence. He was sentenced to 15 years’ imprisonment and to pay compensation to the victim. Dissatisfied with the decision of the trial court he appealed to the High Court contending that the conditions of identification were not ideal; the evidence implicated another person and that the search was not conducted according to law. The counsel for the Respondent (the Republic) conceded to all these arguments and she did not support the Appellant’s conviction. The Court considered whether the Appellant was properly identified.
