The Appellant was charged of the offence of Trafficking in Narcotic Drugs contrary to section 16 (1) (b) (1) of the Drugs and Prevention of Illicitly Traffic in Drugs Act [Cap 95 R.E. 2002] by the High Court of Tanzania which sat at Dar es Salaam. He was convicted and sentenced to imprisonment for twenty years. The Court ordered the Appellant to pay a fine of Tshs. 85,980,000/=. In addition, it was ordered forfeiture, confiscation and destruction of the 54 pellets within twenty-one days from the date of delivery of the judgment. The conviction, sentence and order of the trial court displeased the Appellant, hence this appeal.
