The Appellant was charged with and convicted of armed robbery. He was sentenced to the statutory thirty-year imprisonment. He unsuccessfully appealed to the High Court. Subsequently, he appealed to the Court of Appeal contending that he was convicted on the evidence of identification, which was not watertight. The Counsel for the Republic did not support the conviction holding that the prosecution evidence was contradictory in material particulars. The Court considered whether the case was proved beyond reasonable doubt.
