Upon admission by the defendant of the amount claimed the
District Court of Ifakara entered judgment in favour of the plaintiff.
Dissatisfied by that judgment the defendant appealed to the High Court. On
appeal it was argued that the District Magistrate erred by entering judgment on
admission of the amount claimed without hearing a counter claim. The High Court
considered whether it was proper for the District Court to enter judgment on
admission of facts.
