This was an appeal against
sentence of imprisonment of fifteen years for manslaughter imposed on the
Appellant by the High Court of Tanzania at Bukoba. The Appellant was
challenging the same for being excessive. The Appellant basically raised two
grounds to support his appeal: one, the Court did not take into consideration
the six years he spent in prison prior to conviction and two, the Court did not
also take into consideration that the Appellant readily pleaded guilty to the
offence.
