The Appellant herein had originally filed a petition against the Respondent herein for divorce, division of matrimonial assets and custody of children of marriage. The Appellant won the claims but the Respondent was not satisfied with the order on the division of the matrimonial assets and custody of the children, hence he successfully appealed before the first Appellate District Court. Aggrieved with the decision, the Appellant appealed to this Court. This Court discovered that the petition had been filed without the parties going through the reconciliation board as required by the law.
