The plaintiffs were employees of the defendant and thereafter they were terminated from work. They then filed this civil suit. While the case came for hearing the first witness from the plaintiff side was Lukman Mohammed Rajab, PW1, testified that he came to Zanzibar in 2009 and was employed by the defendant till 2011 as electrician. and used to work six days a week as from 8.00 a.m. till 17.00 p.m. under oral contract and his monthly salary was Tshs. 180,000/=. PW1 was suddenly terminated and thereafter he reported to the labour commission. At the labour commission the defendant was called and admitted terminating PW1, and that all the payments were correctly made to them. Thereafter the defendant agreed to make payments to them but on the calculations made by him. PW1 was paid but yet was not satisfied then they decided to come to court claiming to be paid his terminal benefits for unlawful termination.
