The Appellant was tried and convicted for the offence of armed robbery in the District Court of Kibondo. He was sentenced to serve 30 years’ imprisonment. His appeal in the High Court was unsuccessful hence the appeal to the Court of appeal. In the hearing of the appeal in the Court of Appeal it was noted that the plea of the Appellant was not taken by the trial court.
