The Appellant was charged and convicted of the offence of
rape contrary to section 130(1)(a) and 131(1) of the Penal Code [Cap 16 R.E.
2002] by the District Court. He was sentenced to serve a term of 30 years in
jail. Aggrieved, he unsuccessfully appealed to the High Court, hence, this
second appeal. The appellate court ascertained the legality of the proceedings
and conviction by the lower courts.
