The Appellants were charged with and acquitted of reckless and negligent acts on account of insufficiency of evidence. The Complaint appealed to the District Court, which received additional evidence, reversed the trial court’s judgment and convicted them. They were aggrieved and decided to appeal to the High Court. The questions that were framed by the High Court for the determination of the appeal were whether the prosecution proved the charge beyond reasonable doubt and whether the District Court was right in reversing the trial court’s decision on the basis of additional evidence.
